Green Aces International in line of operation has conducted various evaluations, studies and surveys in two effective programs. We have two programs, the Water, Advocacy, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Program
and the Clean Cooking Stoves program.
WASH Program - Water, Advocacy, Sanitation and Hygiene Program
Green Aces International is currently partnering with like-minded organizations in WASH initiatives. In the past,
Green Aces was only involved in WASH research and development assignments. We have now introduced Bespoke/Tailor made trainings,
Capacity development and WASH leadership program. We are currently rolling out WASH systems in the sub Saharan Africa starting with Kenya,
Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi, Somali, and South Sudan.
We are guided by World Health Organization (WHO) WASH Vision and Mission which has the following pillars:
• Providing leadership in water, sanitation, and Hygiene related issues (by making authoritative statements, influencing policy and coordinating
networks of partners and collaborating centres)
• Normative work (Mainly on water quality, but also on monitoring approaches and interventions, usually resulting in guidelines and best
practice texts)
• Providing evidence (through various monitoring activities, but also through commissioned research)
• Knowledge management (Through analysis, synthesis and dissemination of reliable and credible information).
The following are our areas of focus in WASH
Bespoke trainings entail working with organizations and groups in identifying specific training needs and develop tailor made training programs in order to build the required skills and knowledge. It also includes building on participants’ professional experience and improving their ability to solve water related problems in an integrated fashion.
We are working with partners to identify and address team knowledge and skills gaps to ensure partner teams have the capacity, skills, tools and motivation to empower individuals and organizations to collectively deliver more sustainable and high-quality program outcomes. Successful partnerships demonstrate the ability for teams to collectively:
• Conduct sophisticated analysis that leads to programs that are coherent with context on how to integrate “Water & human rights monitoring tools for business”
• Effectively engage and relate to local stakeholders and strengthen local leadership
• Emphasize deep, lasting transformations through policy and institutional reforms
• Take an inclusive approach in addressing issues within WASH programs
• Involve community-based programs that will be sustainable in dealing with issues WASH.
This involves engaging together with partners on Water programs that require evaluations,
surveys and studies. Under research and development, we have been conducting;
• KAP (Knowledge, Attitude & perception studies)
• Opinion Surveys
• Public policy research & analysis
• Hypothesis testing
• Impact assessment & monitoring
• Behavioral and attitude change studies
We have the best feedback intensive leadership program for all the emerging leaders within water industry.
Through Water leadership programme we are able to promote Matchmaking concept. Matchmaking is a concept is a highly-focused form of
B2B networking that has become a valuable and integral part of many businesses. In as little as 15 minutes, entrepreneurs and business
professionals are able to identify and launch potentially rewarding B2B cooperation and business partnerships in WASH entrepreneurship.
In this case, our goal in WASH leadership program is to nurture emerging leaders by building their skills, knowledge and confidence in
exercising influence, driving change and advancing their knowledge in more suitable forms of water management. This program objectives are;
• To help participants to build self-awareness and self-leadership skills as a pre-requisite for effective leadership and accelerated leadership development
• To assist participants to strengthen group-based leadership capacity (e.g. the capacity of a cross-organizational network of leaders to drive positive change in a water utility)
• To create peer support network for participants that operates during and after the program.
Clean Cooking Stoves program

Green Aces & Clean Cooking Alliance Areas of partnership:
Green Aces partners with Clean Cooking Alliance in conduct of the following services;
• Adoption /Behavior Change
• Finance/Investment
• Gender/ Women’s empowerment
• Livelihoods
• Marketing
• Monitoring and Evaluation
• Technology and Fuel R&D
Our partnership with Clean Cooking Alliance can be summarized in two thematic areas of interest;
a. Cookstoves and Health
We understand that tens of millions more fall sick with illnesses which could readily be prevented with increased adoption of clean and efficient cooking solutions.
According to The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that exposure to smoke from the simple act of cooking is the fifth worst risk factor for disease in developing
countries, and causes almost two million premature deaths per year- exceeding deaths attributable to tuberculosis or malaria.
Women in developing countries are also at risk of head and spinal injuries, pregnancy complications, and maternal mortality from the strenuous task of carrying heavy
loads of firewood or other fuels. Frequent exposure to cookstove smoke can also cause disabling health impacts like cataracts, which affect women more than men, and is the
leading cause of blindness in developing countries.
b. Cookstoves and women empowerment
Women play a unique role within the cookstove and fuel value chains, as they often excel in entrepreneurial activities and can leverage their existing networks for
distribution, marketing, and sales, and Green Aces will continue placing special emphasis on their role. We recognize that we cannot design clean cookstove and fuels
solutions without the full participation and input of women.
